Automated Valve Controller
A requirement for a cost effective valve actuator, with accurate positioning capabilities using of the shelf gearboxes and motors, gave rise to this unique device. It allows for the closed loop positional control of the valve, in conjunction with a standard Vector Drive motor controller. Direct control of the valve by the PLC was not possible, as the pulse count and speed was beyond the range of the PLC communication bus. This simple device converts the digital closed loop signal from the valve to an analogue signal for the PLC, which is far easier to manage and requires simpler and more economical equipment. It was custom designed to suit this specific application of motor, drive, and PLC.
